Dr. Adaobi Anakwe is an Assistant Professor of Health Management and Policy at Drexel University where she studies Black paternal health. Her domestic and international projects focus on creating an understanding of and improving the social conditions that drive paternal health inequities in the Black and African male diaspora. She applies a life-course health equity lens to examine the effects of intersecting roles/identities, sociocultural, structural, and political determinants on men’s health before, during and beyond their partner’s pregnancy, and consequences for maternal and child health. She is the PI of the Health Equity Lab for Paternal Education and Research [HELPER] Dr. Anakwe earned her PhD in Epidemiology from Saint Louis University and completed a postdoc at the University of Missouri, Columbia.
