Dr. Lidia Herrera-Rocha is an education researcher, consultant, and educator whose work centers on bilingualism, biliteracy, and culturally sustaining practice in the U.S.–Mexico borderlands. Her research focuses on language ideologies, teacher identity, resilience and persistence in STEM fields, and the educational experiences of Latiné and emergent bilingual learners. She has led and contributed to mixed-methods and qualitative studies in collaboration with universities, school districts, and state and national education partners, with a strong emphasis on teacher preparation and culturally sustaining practice. Dr. Herrera-Rocha is the founder of EDVantage Analytics, a research and consulting firm through which she leads K–16 research and evaluation initiatives centered on multilingual learner experiences and equity-driven educational improvement. She also serves as an instructor at New Mexico State University, where she teaches bilingual education courses and prepares future teachers to work in innovative, effective, and asset-based ways.
