Nicole Fossier is a Senior Research Analyst at Goodwin Simon Strategic Research (GSSR), a public opinion research firm specializing in qualitative and quantitative research on emotionally and socially complex issues. Her work spans the topics of reproductive rights, immigration reform, health care access, and math learning. Nicole is a lead researcher on the Math Narrative Project, a Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation-supported initiative examining how cultural narratives about math learning shape the math identities, experiences, and outcomes of Black, Hispanic, and lower-income students in grades 6–10. The project combines insights from psychology, cognitive linguistics, and GSSR’s Heartwired theory of narrative change to develop evidence-based messaging strategies for teachers, parents, and practitioners in the education field.
