Rodrigo Ramírez Autrán is a Mexican social anthropologist. He earned his Ph.D. in Scientific and Technological Policy from the State University of Campinas in Brazil. For over a decade, he has studied the impact of Information and Communication Technologies on social life, within the theoretical framework of Science and Technology Studies (STS). His research interests include digital culture, technological appropriation, and innovation. He is currently a postdoctoral researcher at the Institute for Social Research of the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM). During these three years of his postdoctoral fellowship, he has focused on analyzing the sociocultural impact of Artificial Intelligence, the biases, discrimination, and exclusions exhibited by algorithms, and the potential impacts experienced by users. Recently, he received the distinction of being a member of the National System of Researchers at level 1, by the Secretariat of Science, Humanities, Technology and Innovation (SECIHTI-Mexico).
